Why Minimize Junk Stats?
A bred baby's birth level = 1 + the sum of every wild+mutated point it inherits across the 6 core stats (+2 more per new mutation rolled at birth). The official server cap is 450, and up to 88 of those levels must be spent as domestic (post-birth) leveling — so the usable birth-level ceiling is 450 − 88 = 362. Any wild/mutated point sitting in a stat you don't care about ("junk") eats into that 362 headroom exactly as much as a point in a stat you're actively breeding for, leaving less room to pump goal stats with domestic levels and less room for future mutations before hitting the cap. The "Also breed junk stats DOWN" setting (My Creatures tab) has the Breeding Planner favor pairs that pass down the lower-value parent's package in non-goal stats (45% chance per stat), keeping birth level as low as possible for a given amount of goal-stat points and maximizing headroom.
Bloodstalker Taming Notes
- Consumes Blood Packs: needs roughly 10 × target level in a rolling taming meter — bring plenty.
- Taming effectiveness rises by web-grabbing wild creatures and letting the Bloodstalker land the killing blow — TE never drops during this method (unlike starve taming).
- Keep it fed on Blood Packs throughout; effectiveness is built through combat kills, not passive feeding alone.
